There is enormous interest recently in a wide variety of ways to increase the local production and consumption of food. This interest stems from many different motivations, including improving human health, increased social interaction and reducing the environmental impacts of agriculture. For example, local councils are increasingly facilitating the local production and consumption of food by providing seed funding for projects and making land available to locals.
